The bible records in the book of Matthew that wise men, called Magi, saw a new Star in the sky that they believed was a sign that a new King was born in Judea. They traveled to the city of Jerusalem, in what is now the country of Israel, and asked the reigning King of Judea from what city this new King would come. The King knew that the prophets of Israel had foretold of a King, called the Christ, who would be a Savior for the Jews and the Gentiles. When the King consulted with the chief priest and teachers they told him that the Prophet Micah, about 700 years earlier, had prophesied that the Christ would come from the small town of Bethlehem. When the Magi were given this information they left for Bethlehem and were guided by the Star to a stable where a baby boy named Jesus, or Jeshua in Hebrew, which means “The Lord is Salvation”, was lying in a manger. Then the Magi worship the newborn Christ and presented gifts because they were full of joy.

In the Star Christmas Tree Farm logo there is a star and a golden cross above a grove of pine trees. The pine tree is another prophetic sign that heralds the coming of the Christ as recorded in the 55th Chapter of the book of Isaiah. The Star represents the guiding light that draws all wise men to their Savior, which is represented by the golden cross.

Some may wonder, why do people get so excited about having a Savior. For Ted Krasnesky it was the simple realization that he is a sinful person who doesn’t deserve Gods grace. The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death…”, not just bodily death, but eternal separation from God. Thankfully that wasn’t the final word, because the Bible goes on to say, “…but, the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). At the Star Christmas Tree Farm, we pray that you have accepted this free gift of God, offered through believing and trusting in his Son who loves us so much that he willingly sacrificed his life, so that we could enjoy eternal life with him in Heaven. That’s worth getting excited about and celebrating his birth. Merry Christmas!
